ADAM WEST

In a career that has spanned over sixty years, film, theater and television actor Adam West is perhaps best known for playing the role of Batman in the classic television series—a role that continues to be discovered and loved by new generations—as well as his more recent roles in Family Guy (lending his voice to the character of Mayor Adam West), Funny or Die Presents… and The Big Bang Theory.

Born in Walla Walla, Washington, West came to Hollywood in the mid-1950s, quickly making a name for himself with numerous film and television credits. Early in his career, he would appear in such classic TV series as Lawman, Cheyenne, Colt .45, Maverick, Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, Petticoat Junction, Bewitched and The Virginian. In 1961, he starred in his first TV series, The Detectives, and would go on to star in The Last Precinct and The Clinic. In 1966, the role that would rocket him to international fame came along when he starred in Batman—he would subsequently go on to play the role of the caped crusader in BATMAN: THE MOVIE (1966), the series The New Adventures of Batman and Legends of the Superheroes, as well as lend his voice to the role in Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show and The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians.  He has continued to appear on countless TV shows such a Laverne & Shirley, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Murder, She Wrote, Danger Theatre, Murphy Brown, 30 Rock and The Big Bang Theory.

His film credits include such classic films as The Young Philadelphians (1959), Tammy and the Doctor (1963), Soldier in the Rain (1963), Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964), Hooper (1978), Joyride (1997) and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). West has also lent his voice to a number of animated series and films including: Batman: The Animated Series; Rugrats, Chicken Little (2005); The Batman; Family Guy; Meet the Robinsons (2007); The Fairly OddParents; Batman: The Brave and the Bold; and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
