Stacey Wilson Hunt was named New York Magazine and Vulture’s first-ever Hollywood Editor in October after serving as Awards & Special Projects Editor and Senior Editor at The Hollywood Reporter for more than five years.
The Portland, OR native started her editorial career at Microsoft and earned a masters in journalism from Columbia University in 2001. She has worked and written for People magazine, Details, Us Weekly, TV Guide, Variety and Portland Monthly magazine, to name a few.
While at THR, she wrote cover stories on The Simpsons, Lorne Michaels, Conan O’Brien, Saturday Night Live and Breaking Bad, among others, and also was an Executive Producer and host of THR’s award-winning roundtable series, Close Up with the Hollywood Reporter, which aired on SundanceTV. She also oversaw all Emmy and Academy Awards print coverage, THR’s annual Women in Entertainment issue and the magazine’s interview lounges at Sundance and Toronto.
Wilson Hunt has been awarded numerous commendations for her work including FOLIO, Society of Professional Journalists and L.A. Press Club awards, and is a frequent moderator of industry panel events, including for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Hollywood Radio & Television Society (HRTS), Paley Center for Media and the Television Academy.
She currently lives near the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles with her Texan-writer-husband Kris, a Shih Tzu named Buddy and a cat named Cotton.
